Vantage Point

Sometimes when
in fearless steps you misstep
and fall
on your back
your feet no longer assured by ground
you have no view
except of stars above.
No story to tell
except of galaxies which string
each other along
on an ecliptic path that thrills,
the deep stillness of the moon,
and a weaving pattern
of constellations

All feelings fade

after a while

You tell the tale of what you see.
Others have painted parts
of this familiar scene.
If you can’t get back up,
it only means
you’re not at the end
of the universe,
and the story is not
yet complete.
